Winter field peas
Winter field peas are planted in late fall after the main harvest has occurred. They are a winter cover crop that should survive the harsh weather and grow in the spring to produce flowers and peas later on.
Eddie worked on a study using six variations of winter peas, which survived the Vermont winter and produced a lot of fruit the following spring. The plants with the highest yields were the variations Koyote, Blaze, and PSII30024W. Windam, Lakota, and PSII30298W were also grown successfully.
